Facial veins better know as telangiectasias are unsightly dilated blood vessels in the outer layer of the skin.They usually are found on the nose and chin and can spread to the cheeks.On the legs they are called spider veins.
What are the causes of Facial Veins?
Facial veins can be caused by a variety of factors, the most common being prolonged exposure to UVA sunlight and Rosacea. Heredity, hormone therapy and normal aging process also play a role in the development of these veins.
What is the treatment for Facial Veins?
Facial vessels are most effectively treated by laser and often several different laser systems are used in combinations. La Bella Medispa offers two systems (Nd:Yag and KPT) and IPL to ensure optimal results.
Is there any downtime with this procedure?
The use of laser on telangiectasia causes minimal downtime. You will be red and swollen on the area treated but the swelling usually subsides within 24hrs.
Is this treatment painful?
Laser Facial Vein treatment has been described as a sensation of a quick snap with a rubber band against the skin as the laser passes over the vessel. A topical numbing cream can also be prescribed if needed.
How many treatments are needed?
The number of treatments vary on the disease process, the condition of the skin and the severity of the facial veins. On average, about three treatments are required. The veins that are destroyed by laser will not return. Depending on your lifestyle habits and the disease process new vessel can surface. We highly recommend daily use of sunblock to help prevent future damage.
