Reflexology

Reflexology

Based in traditional Chinese medicine, Reflexology uses pressure points on the hands and feet to relieve stress and promote the body’s ability to heal. It is great for stress reduction and its effects are cumulative, allowing the body, mind and spirit to more easily stay in a calm state.

What is reflexology?
Reflexology is a massage technique for hands and feet that corresponds to 7,000 nerve endings in the body and every organ treating the entire body.  Its know as the “internal massage”.

Who benefits from reflexology?
Anyone! Enjoy tranquil relaxation, improved circulation and the opening of neural pathways leading to overall improved energy level and sense of well being. The theory behind this therapy is to bring the body to complete homeostasis which allows the body to self heal.

What should I expect during the treatment?
The practitioner uses massage techniques on the hands and feet applying pressure to specific areas that correspond to the organs and nerve endings in the entire body. Often there is an overall sense of energy flowing  and a deep level of relaxation as your body is brought into balance.

What should I expect after the treatments?
Most find it extremely relaxing and a well-being state of mind is often reported during and after a session. The practitioner stimulates the nervous system using gentle pressure addressing specific health issues such as migraine headaches, stress disorders, Insomnia, high or low blood pressure, muscle tension and pain, sinusitis, PMS and more.

How many sessions will I need?
Frequency of visits depends on the health and wellness goals of the client. Clients with chronic conditions can benefit from bi-weekly or weekly sessions. Usually, the time between visits increases, as the body begins to regain a state of natural balance and vitality. Monthly visits can help keep stress in check and build immunity. The duration of each session depends on the age, and condition of the client.
