Latisse

LATISSE® is the first and only FDA-approved prescription treatment for inadequate or not enough eyelashes, growing them longer, fuller and darker.

LATISSE® solution is a once-a-day treatment you apply topically to the base of your upper eyelashes, as instructed by your doctor. You will start to see more length in as little as 4 weeks and you should achieve full growth in 16 weeks.

How does LATISSE®Work?

LATISSE® makes lash growth possible because of its active ingredient: bimatoprost. Although the precise mechanism of action is unknown, LATISSE® is believed to affect the growth (anagen) phase of the eyelash hair cycle in two ways: first, it increases the length of this phase, and second, it increases the number of hairs in this growth phase.

Will it make my eyes change color?

Back in 2001, Allergan developed a medicated eye drop used to treat ocular hypertension. In addition to successfully lowering eye pressure (the only treatable risk factor for glaucoma), many patients using this medication experienced a side effect - they began to grow longer, fuller and darker lashes. These patients put the drops of the medication directly into their eyes which in rare cases caused the color of their iris to darken. Since Latisse is only applied to the lash root and not directly into the eye, there are no documented cases of this problem.

Are there any side effects to using Latisse?

Latisse may cause hyperpigmentation (staining) but this is reversible when you stop using Latisse. This side effect is seldom seen when the product is applied correctly to the eyelid. Some patients do experience redness and itching on the eyelid and usually have to stop the use of Latisse.

What happens to my eyelashes if I stop using it?

Your lashes will return to their natural state within a few weeks.
