What Is a Microdermabrasion?
A minimally abrasive instrument is used to gently sand your skin, removing the superficial layer of dry, dead skin.
What are the advantages of this procedure?
Microderm is right for all skin types and for anyone interested in minimizing the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, brown spots, uneven skin tones, dull lifeless and sun-damaged skin. Removing the dead layer of skin allows for deeper penetration of your skin care products.
How does the microdermabrasion work?
A highly controlled spray of fine medical grade aluminum oxide crystals are applied to your face followed by a vacuum system that pulls up the dead skin and crystals. Afterwards, a soothing hydrating cream is applied to treated area.
Does it hurt?
Generally, the microdermabrasion procedure is virtually painless. Some clients may experience a sensation resembling a light sunburn or windburn.
How many treatments are needed?
The number of treatments recommended for maximal results range between 5 and 12 treatments, spaced 1 to 3 weeks apart. Major changes like reduction of fine lines and hyperpigmention become visible after five treatments. Maintenance treatment is recommended at least every three months. Long term treatments are medically proven to rebuild the collagen and fibrin in your skin giving it a tighter, fuller appearance.
Please stop any Retinol or glycolic products 72 hrs before treatment.
